Joy Hokanson
Artist statement:
![]() "One of Joy's most delightful characteristics is her openess to take on any new situation. She seems to accept life with all of its truths, and her work reflects this; it is beautiful, painful, happy, and sad. Her fingers work with a "chopstick"-like delicacy creating intricate yet humble marks. She is eager to learn and not afraid to make decisions in her work. Anyone who knows Joy knows her to be sweet, intelligent, stubborn, amazingly observant, and talented. She loves her family, she loves her friends, she loves herself, and she loves her world."
I Remember what happened on September 11th and I always will.
It is my birthday.
