This annual event held by The American Cancer Society became a special occassion for the team at NCA. A couple months prior to the event, NCA lost one of its artists who had been a member of its program since it opened in 1984. Susie Trathen was loved by all who knew her, and when she passed away last spring, she became the inspiration for starting a team that would "walk for a cure." Susie had battled cancer during her life, and this was our way of supporting her as well as the other artists in our program who are cancer survivors, and their family members who are also battling cancer.
