BROCKIE BALLARD
 |
Brockie draws images of 'butterflies'. These flying creatures have been the main subject of his drawings and paintings for many years and are much loved by collectors and patrons of NCA. Looming large on the paper or canvas, each one has its own distinct personality. Brockie's butterflies demand that the viewer get "up close and personal." Flying through a midnight blue sky or a rainbow of watercolors, sometimes striped and multi-colored, sometimes painted with a solid vibrant color, these butterflies sport large faces revealing varying emotions. But there is one thing they all have in common: large outstretched wings that reflect Brockie's open heart and affectionate nature. Brockie is a joy to have in program. Like clock work Brockie will confirm that the end of the month is approaching. Brockie will show all of his friends and staff at NCA that the calendar needs to be turned to the next month and it will soon be time for a new hat. With each new month Brockie's family provides him with a new hat, and with each new hat NCA gets the joy of the smile that comes with it.
