I am Barbie. I paint. I paint with Christina. I paint people. I make circles and b's. B for Barbie. I like my friends and teachers. I like pizza, baseball, and ice cream with whipped cream. I like to paint. I paint with blue, red, yellow, purple, green and pink.
Barbie likes to sing and play the guitar. Barbie is very social. She makes art and then goes around to show it to everyone. She gets great joy out of getting to share her work. She works with bright colors, mostly yellow, red and blue. In addition to colors, her portraits use a lot of lines to make a pattern. She comes to work each day, not just to do art, but also to get loved. Barbie was born in 1949 and has spent her entire life with her family. She has been attending NCA since its inception in 1984. Unhindered by convention, Barbie's creativity is pure and authentic, pouring from within her onto paper or canvas with joy and ease. An intricate alphabet on images characterizes some of Barbie's more recent paintings. She often constructs her paintings through a complex process of layering several media, frequently masking previous layers entirely, making clear that for Barbie the process of art making is at least as important as its product.
