My name is Alyssa Turner. I ride the white bus. No yellow bus! Yellow bus high school bus. I don’t want the yellow bus. I like the white bus. White bus takes me to NCA. I do art at NCA. I work with Amee, Jan, Susan M, Laura G, Laura R, and Ric. I paint, and draw. I also use text from books. I will paint and then layer my work with words from magazines, books and other literature. Some of my favorite things are rice cakes, reading books, the internet, and art. I like to paint yellow, blue, red, green, purple, black, and orange. When you ask me why I like coming to NCA I like my teachers, Paul Melching, painting, and riding the bus home with bus driver Mickey. I am getting to have a turn at the computer and type: ‘I feel happy coming to work. I am at Amee’s desk on the computer. I like my friends. I like lunch. I like to eat my granola bar. I like art. I like to listen to my friends. I like to ride the white bus with Mickey. My favorite friends are, Paul Melching, Lisa Brown, Roland Vieira, Maggie, and Bryan Smith. I like working at NCA and make money.’
